Emissions cuts can save the Arctic and reduce sea level rises

New research published in Geophysical Research Letters shows that a 70% cut in CO2 emissions this century can halt the worst aspects of climate change. Led by the National Center for Atmospheric Research, the scientists used advanced computer modelling to see what would happen if emissions were cut. Without the cuts, temperatures would rise 4 times as much than if cuts were made. Sea level rises would also be reduced.
Sea ice would stabilize by 2100, although at a lower level.
