G20 Counter Conference

G20 Counter Conference - taking alternatives forward

7 November 2009, 10am – 5.30pm Central Hall, Westminster SW1H 9NH  

 

As the G20 Finance Ministers meet and carry on business as usual in Scotland, join us in London as activists, campaigners, unions and policy makers share ideas on what the alternatives are and how we must organise across our issues of jobs, justice and climate, to make the alternative a reality: In the run up to Copenhagen, how do we get a global agreement on climate that truly puts climate justice at its heart?How do we respond to the jobs crisis and growing poverty around the world?  How do we ensure the global Green New Deal the world needs?How do we show that cuts are not the only option, and demonstrate what Putting People First really looks like?  

 

Speakers include: Deborah Doane WDM, Billy Hayes CWU, Vimbai Mushongera Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions, Lidy Nacpil Jubilee South, Poul Nyrup Rasmussen President, Party of European Socialists,  Andrew Simms, New Economics Foundation.
