PCAN is a network of organisations and we are happy to work with others to publicise events, provided they fit with our objectives. So do let us know of any plans you have and if you would like us to add a short profile about your group, let us know.
There are lot of groups working to raise awareness of climate change and we’ve listed some of the ones we work with here.
But there are lots of churches, political groups and charities that are very involved in battling climate change, so whatever cause you support may have materials and events you could link with.
Some of the local groups we work with are listed here:

They are organising a mass lobby of Parliament in June, getting people to contact candidates now and trying to make the public aware of what we stand to lose if climate change is not tackled.

A Sustainability Organization, which recognises that the majority of our social problems, such as poverty, corruption, economic collapse, homelessness, war, starvation etc are all “Symptoms” of an outdated social structure.
The solution is called a Resource Based Economy. By replacing our outdated monetary systems with automated libraries and factories, supplying all our everyday needs, eliminating the need for human labour, thus freeing up our time for better education and improving the standards of living for all.
It may sound like an impossible Utopia but around the world this concept is already beginning to take shape. If we can put a man on the moon, then we can do this. But it needs something else to make it happen – You.
Be the change you want to see. Come join the Movement

We believe that our current monetary system which relies upon debt created through the fractional-reserve banking system is harmful and needs urgent reform.
The banking system maintains a perpetually unstable debt slavery, which is harmful to the majority of the people and the planet. We believe this system needs reform, as laid out by Positive Money UK.

SOLENT FRACKING AWARENESS
PCAN supports the local campaign against fracking which is a process used to extract gas and oil trapped in shale rocks deep undergound. Many areas around Portsmouth are earmarked for fracking - the city depends on underground aquifers in these areas for its fresh water supplies.
We believe that it is no answer to the energy crisis, it will harm the environment and it will pose serious threats to our water supply and health.
We need to fight hard because planning applications have been going ahead with very little public awareness.
Join the fight on Facebook.
